In the United States, Thanksgiving is a really big eating holiday. Unfortunately, we set ourselves up for failure when it comes to Thanksgiving dinner.

Between the TV commercials, cooking shows, magazine covers with all the pretty pictures of the Thanksgiving food, it seems like everybody's talking about Thanksgiving dinner and all the yummy dishes. There are so many prompts out there in the world that are telling us it's okay to overeat by building the anticipation of all of the foods we can expect.
So yes, Thanksgiving is about eating, but that doesn't mean you have to let the meal wreck your weight loss goals. You don't have to fall for the hype. You can do Thanksgiving differently this year.
