Eating Whatever You Want
Discipline.
What was your first thought when you read the word…discipline?
You may be thinking…
😐I don't want to be disciplined. That's no fun.
😐I want to be able to eat whatever I want.
😐I don't like rules in my life.
😐I prefer to go with the flow…
Sound familiar?
I have a question for you to contemplate.
Why?
Why do you want to live a life where you have no self-regulation?
Think about the amount of time you've spent overeating, procrastinating, and overspending (how we do one thing is how we do everything).
Lack of self-discipline.
When I answer that question, I realized I was afraid to feel the discomfort of being uncomfortable.
Self-discipline is not easy.
It's much easier to “live in the moment” and “go with the flow.” #yolo
That thinking wasn't providing me with the life or the body that I wanted.
😔Being $236,000 in debt isn't fun.
😔Being 25 pounds overweight isn't fun.
😔Worrying constantly about what I had to get done, isn't fun.
When I decided I wanted something more for myself, I looked at others who I admired.
The common theme amongst them is?
Self-discipline.
Rather than “go with the flow” I recognize that self-discipline yielded my success.
I'm not perfect.
I'm still under construction.
But I'm much better than I used to be.
LIVE YOUR LIFE BASED ON YOUR GOALS AND NOT YOUR CURRENT MOOD
When you decide this is how you want to operate, the practice of self-discipline becomes easier.
ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION
How can you begin to practice self-discipline when you think about your goal?
Goal: Lose 25 pounds
Thought: I can practice self-discipline by deciding to stop eating at 7 pm every night.
Goal: Eat less refined carbs
Thought: I can practice self-discipline by filling my stomach with more vegetables and eating complex carbs.
What if you could believe that self-discipline = your success, friend?
